A story is one photo or a short video that sits on a creator's profile for 24 hours, then stays on as a highlight. The creator decides who can watch it.
A story is one photo, or one video up to 60 seconds. It sits at the top of the creator's profile for 24 hours, with a coloured ring around their picture on Discover and the homepage, and then moves to the creator's highlights on their profile, where it stays until they delete it.
Who can watch
The creator picks one of three when they post:
- Everyone — anybody who opens the profile.
- Followers — people who follow the creator. Following is free.
- Members only — people with an active membership or monthly content subscription to that creator.
Anyone else sees the story locked, with a button to follow or to join. Nothing from a locked story is shown to someone who cannot watch it.
Reactions and views
Signed-in supporters can react with one emoji per story, and change or remove it. There are no comments. The creator sees how many people watched, who reacted, and a count of views from people who were not signed in.
Posting a story (creators)
Open your profile and press Add story above your tabs. Your page has to be live first. Every story goes through the same automatic safe-for-work check as the rest of the platform before anyone sees it — usually within a minute. Only you can see it until then.
If the check removes a story, you see it on your own story with the reason, and nobody else can see it. If you think the check got it wrong, use Get help.
Pinning highlights
Open a highlight and press the pin to move it to the front of your row. You can pin up to 5.

The same rules as everything else here: safe-for-work only, and no links, handles or contact details in the caption.
